Edition 21 of the FICAM: Meknes International Animation Film Festival

Edition 21 of the FICAM, an exceptional cultural event in Meknes is also characterized by its very rich program with a massive participation of famous stars of animation cinema and in the presence of professionals.

Kristof Serrand

The artiste Kristof Serrand was honored during this 21 edition of Ficam festival and his commitment to the development of animated film on an international scale. Indeed, having participated in several major pieces of American animated cinema including:

Kung Fu Panda 3
the dragon trilogy
the Penguins of Madagascar
Spirit: The Stallion of the Plains

The Aicha Animation Grand Prize 2023

Awarded to “Mohammed Samsseme” for his animated short film project “T’as vente mes rollers? “.

Animation Film Professions Forum – Edition 2

Objective:

Strengthen the network of animation professionals in Morocco
Organize a Moroccan animated film market in Meknes.

After the success of the first edition, the forum was held again this year on the sidelines of the festival (March 3, 4 and 5, 2023).
An exchange platform, the forum brings together:

Moroccan animation studios,
the national television channel SNRT
arts, film and journalism schools.

Czech cinematography in the spotlight.

Shedding light on Czech animation cinema has imposed itself as this art has marked and influenced animation film in general. The general public discovered two undisputed masters of Czech animation:

Jiri Brdecka (1917-1982)
Jiri Trnka (1912-1969)
